Business Begins

After observing the many vendors that cruise around Brasil on their beefy bicycles, George decided retailing was the business for him. He decided to become a door to door hot sauce supplier.

As George's loving parents, we explained to him the basic concepts of supply and demand, marketing, and business planning. He shrugged and walked away. We reeled him back and explained that selling popsicles at the weekly soccer game would be a gold mine. Who is in more need of a popsicle than an overheated soccer player or a bored spectator?

And so a couple Fridays ago, George set up shop. He hauled out his cooler, hung up his shingle, and even brought a book to read when the selling was slow.

Picoles de George!

50 centavos
Cupuacu, Morango, Coco, Flocos, Chocolate,

Tapioca, Chocolate Branco

Suco de Caju 15 centavos
Suco de Tangerina 15 centavos
Feito com agua potavel!

George sold all of his popsicles (40 of them) and all of his juice, and walked away with $8.00 in profit--of course, some of that was paid to his investors (coolers aren't free, you know). We are unsure how much profit was eaten by George and friends. George found a little time to recreate during his 15 minute break. Finn manned the popsicles during the interim, and only ate five on his watch.

That is awesome, George (and parents)! I'm glad you're making some profit. We used to do that in front of our house with Otter Pops. Do you remember those? :) I don't think we made any money though...
