We're still mostly here, definitely not there, and our brains are a little bit of everywhere.
Our farewell cake from Adrienne Peters is long gone (though the memory of its delicious frosting lives on), and we are still waiting on those visas. Prognosis? "The visas should be here in the next two weeks". Yeah, we've been hearing that for over two months now. 15 other NICS teachers are also waiting on their Brazilian visas in various parts of the world. Maybe tomorrow.
In the meantime, George and I have been trying to enjoy the dry, eastern Washington climate as much as possible--gotta enjoy those cracked cuticles while we can!
We thought the next big river we'd be posing by would be the Amazon, but here are the boys in front of the rolling Columbia.
Finn goes for a short crike (crawl + hike) through the rain forest near Trout Lake. Thanks for the great picture, Uncle Dennis!

So while we are waiting, George is learning his numbers and letters, Finn is learning to walk in the northern hemisphere (starts with the right foot instead of the left, and walks in counterclockwise circles), Jill attempts to keep our bins organized (and find a few winter clothes), and I work for Gutman Construction and write lesson plans for classes I've never met. We are continually trusting the Lord for his timing, and enjoying this extra time with family and friends.

I gotta say, the Columbia is WAY cleaner than the Amazon! Can't wait to see you posing in front of the Amazon for that pic. Oh, and thanks, Stew, for the lesson plans. I appreciate them. :o)
WOW That's a long time to wait. Well, Amanda, our friend Michelle, and I are meeting to pray in the mornings so we'll be praying that your visas get here soon so you can go, and also in our bible study, A.L.I.V.E. :D

Still praying for all of you and your visa's. Hope it doesn't get to cold before you get to leave.
